RE: Coastliners - Trying To Unplug And Be Lazy...

in #story6 years ago

Hard to unplug these days even when trying that infamous text comes through. But like you, books are very good at drawing us away from daily tech. I'd like to hard wire my home instead of all the wireless that comes with tech these days due to it and its effects on the body still being there whether you're involved or not. That's a different way to look at it I know but still a worry for me at least. I grew up in the era of household tech just not being available and really it's birth. I remember brick sized car phones that very few had. I still find it very strange that 2nd and 3rd graders have phones or when you see that crazy person walking around talking to themselves and you realize that they're not crazy at all but that they're using an earbud for a phone call.......... I say unplug, forget then walk outside and plug into the sun.............the oldest tech in the our known neck of the woods. Works wonders ;)

Well I was born in the 80ies and one day my dad brought a Commodore 64 home. I didn't really understood what it was useful for, but I remember that I learned to appreciate it when the first games came out :-)

Technological progress is inevitable, but I fully agree with you that we shouldn't forget how to enjoy time without the tech.

Only the fact that such signs exist nowadays, should be reason enough to seriously think about our behavior...
