[Blog #21] News | Quit my job | Projects

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Goooood night, readers! How are you? Bringing a happy and atypical blog to tell the news, you are part of this.

Hey, beloved monsters. It's strange writing a blog not related to any crazy story or to tell yet another insanity I've done in  this world of ours - In fact, what I'm going to tell is a bit of insanity, let's see.

This past week a lot has happened; I got sick after a cycling weekend, a lot of mishaps on daily duties frustrated me, rainy weather non-stop, couldn't post any story here, comments pilled up, I could barely eat and I was extremely busy with my work at the school.

Speaking of work, as you may know I'm a teacher at a school, it's a job that I've done for two years now and that has taught me a lot, as I not only teach, but I learn a lot from the kids as well. However, my background is mechanical engineering, a career I've chosen not to build a career upon, for the 9-5 stressful routine. That doesn't mean I don't like engineering either. For me, the greatest part of becoming an engineer was the mind opening, the ability to think creatively and how it pushes us into having new ideas. That's what I've been doing my whole life since my parents gave me some Legos ®  when I was a kid.

I've loved teaching, I may go back to teaching one day, but...

Life goes on, ideas change and I need to exercise my entrepreneur mind: I quit my regular job!

From the eyes of a brazilian citizen this sounds like the most insane idea ever to be done, while milions of people in Brazil are desperate for a job, I'm quitting mine. What's going on?

Wanderlust! Once you've been bite my the travel bug, there's no going back. I've learned to cut my daily expenses to the bare minimum without losing quality of life, lessons I plan to bring to the community in the near future. I've learned that the internet can present more opportunities than we can ever imagine, I see all this as a new revolution of how we work, something new and still under development/discovery phase; remember that the Industrial Revoluton has more than 200 years, internet in the other hand has 30 or less. For that reason I want to be part of it. How about you?

Plans for my future and this blog:

Without a regular job I'll have to work out of the comfort zone, it'll not be easy, but it's a risk I'm willing to take. Being that way I have some projects in mind for the blog.

  • Bring more elaborate and better quality posts;
  • Step up my photography work in terms of quality (I've got a new camera Yey!);
  • Explore video platforms (Pending action camera);
  • Bring more challenges to retribute money back to the community;
  • I'll also be preparing for a long bicycle trip following the coast of Brazil that I plan to bring to Steemit first-hand.

I'm incredibly happy with all the amazing people I'm meeting here and I do see us growing together on the amazing Steem world. Now, more than ever, I'll need your support and I'll do my best to retribute back your love. This are the plans for my main account, but there's more.

Community Project Announcement: Introducing CycleFeed: Curation Project For Cyclists By Cyclists

As you may have already noticed from my last resteems, I'm super glad to introduce a new project that, @robmolecule, @twowheeledmonkey and I, have just started. It's been a really hard work since we came up with the idea until launch day, I'm sure there's still a lot of tweaks to do, but this project will also enter in my new daily dedication.

With CycleFeed I'll have plenty of work to do, yet not a single income to live life. However, it's a project that I'm really proud of and it'll benefit the community, that's the goal for the moment. Hope you appreciate it.

@CycleFeed

Oil your chain, adjust your saddle and hop on board. This is a project to support our fellow cyclists across the Steemit platform.

This is it for this post lovely monsters, I just wanted to bring you the highlights of my week and let you know that I'll embrace Steemit more than ever. On top of that, I'll have more time to interact with you, making our bonds even stronger.

Soon I'll be back on posting my cycling adventures; due to my recent sickness I've been unable to get a proper nutrition, hence, making cycling somewhat dangerous.

If you like my work, be sure to check my blog once in a while, because in the following weeks I'll start posting my preparations for an amazing 2000 km bicycle journey on the coast of Brazil and I've set as my goal to bring you with me!

If you liked this post, please, consider leaving your upvote for a hot coffee.

~Love ya all,

Heeeeyho @jessicaoutside, thank you a lot for the vote of encouragement. It is scary not having a safe pay check from a regular work anymore, but... time to learn new things.

Please continue teach even a little in Steemit. Congratulation on your new destination to the cycling world. A vlog journey will be cool. 😆

Hey @legendchew, yeahhh teaching is such a beautiful aspect of life, I'll continue to do that for sure, just in a different way.
Thanks for the support, my next steps will be insane! hahah

Talking about bravery in one of your last posts. Well you're a brave man my friend! I hope you'll keep chasing your dreams and can't say more than that I want to wish all the best for your future plans!

I raise my hat to you and your bravery, then.

You are doing what I have contemplated many time already, but not yet achieved.

As others have written in the comments already: Chase your dreams! I wish you much endurance on this path and luck! I will support you... Well, with words, mostly 😉

Heyho @lakesnmountains, thanks for dropping a message,

Why have you contemplated, but didn't achieve? I know it's a great risk, I don't even know what will happen on my live from now on, but I'm willing to discover.

Come one! let's become homeless all at once hahaha

Well... to dream of something is one thing, to actually do it is something completely different...

I'll let you take these risky steps first, and in a month or so, when you are living your new amazing life, you can again try to convince me 😉

Absolutely agree! But in a month or so I'll possibly be living below the bridge HHHAHA but I'm positive.
