Ultimate Crochet Contest Is Back!!

Happy new years crocheters!

With putting the contest on pause for the Christmas holidays and New Years celebrations I am excited to announce that the game is back on!

I am willing to bet that many of you were rushing just as much as I did to create those last minute stitches to finish that project for a gift. Did you get to finish? I didn't. The blanket I was making ended up breaking apart. There was something wrong with the yarn that made it break with tension. And so I started back up again with new yearn just recently. It will be late but better late than never.

I was also able to make a slouchy hat for my niece.

It was quite easy and worked up fast. I started with a magic circle, worked my way up using hdc or dbc (trying to remember lol). One row was made to make the ribbing, so I crocheted back post. Then the next 2 rows after that I crocheted regularly and then the next row back post again.
For the brim I just did 3 stitches back post and 3 stitches from post and followed that pattern till I was happy with the size of it. ( Can you tell I am not good at writing the how to's? lol)

And that was all I had time to make. I would have loved to make more, just not enough time.

Ok back to the contest!

As per usual, you have 2 weeks to write up a post and send me the link in the comments section below. This will give you enough time to either start a new project, perhaps finish it or to finish up what you already have going. If you want to share something that you have created over the holidays please do! It doesn't have to be written up as a 'how to' post, it can be of the object you made and someone receiving it with their reactions. It can be of how decorative it is in your living room or how nice it fits on you or goes with your outfit. There are so many ways to show off what you made and the entries I have received in the past showed off some great pictures, awesome handmade items, and awesomely written posts. I look forward to seeing more of that :D

And so here are the rules....

  • Write a post about what you created, including one or more pictures. I want to be able to give extra support to my fellow Steemians. A crocheted piece is something to take to heart.

  • Share your post with me by putting up your link in the comments section on this post.

  • I do ask for you to please share this contest. I understand some people have their standards and would rather not, so it is not mandatory. But please know that the more eyes we have on this post the more people will join the contest, take part, build a bigger crochet community and the more chances people will upvote to support, which means you get a bigger prize in the end.

  • An upvote is much appreciated but also not mandatory. The payout of this post is what I can give out for prizes at this moment. The more this post makes, the more you win.

How it works

I will be asking someone different every contest to help me choose the top 3. For this first contest, I will split the amount between the 3 contest winners. As the contest grows, the more I can give out more rewards.
For everyone that participates I will be resteeming your post and upvoting. My upvote isn't worth much but I am working on that.

Ok awesome Crocheters! Time to show me what you got! Get those hands to work and out your skills to the test!

Happy crocheting!

I just got to the crown decreases. It's my first hat, I changed the pattern of a cowl for it, I hate to work with cotton... Well, last week I showed how to unravel a hat ;) Though my ambition spurred me and even having to tink some rows again I think it will take only one or two days to finish the hat and to show it to you!

Awesome! Write a post about it, that way I can support your work and share it with the Steemit world! How exciting is that, that its your first hat!

Finally I did it - here is my post for your contest! And it was really a challenge for me, I was dreading finishing the mitten for a long time :)

Awesome, I will be looking at all the entries a little later today :)

I don't have an account made in Steempeak. I am unable to resteem it and upvote it.

I changed the link - you just have to exchange the "peak" for "it" :)

Aawww sorry about the blanket. What a bummer. But hey, the slouchy hat looks really great and your niece looks cool! Love her golden hair! :) And I am going to try your pattern, although I don't quite understand it :D
Thank you for bringing back the contest!! :)

No worries with the blanket, I am making a better one this time ^_^ If you have any questions about the pattern I can help, I'm no master and writing them down to explain them right like most people do lol.
I am happy to bring back the contest! I love seeing what you all bring me!

I will beep you if I get stuck with the pattern.
And here is my entry!

Thank you @foxyspirit! :)

You are welcome! I love what you made ^_^

Your balance is below $0.3. Your account is running low and should be replenished. You have roughly 10 more @dustsweeper votes. Check out the Dustsweeper FAQ here: https://steemit.com/dustsweeper/@dustsweeper/dustsweeper-faq

You're quite talented! That slouchy "beanie" cap you made for your niece is so pretty, and what a gorgeous color yarn you selected! Bravo! 😃

Thank you very much ^_^ Slouchies are quite fun to make too :)

I'm totally going to enter and take credit for my sister-in-law's awesome mermaid tail.

Whoops! Did I just tell on myself?

That is BEAUTIFULLLLLLLLLL!!!! Look at all those colors! And it all works together! Man that is something I wish I had, to make colors work well with each other. I tend to just keep to the basics or use a variegated yarn lol.
Your sister in law should be on Steemit just to be able to share her awesome skill!

Her daughter is on steemit. :-) She is also talented. You can check her out at @aroundthecloud

I'll try to get Amanda on steemit as well, but it's pretty doubtful. Maybe we could get @aroundthecloud to blog about her mom's designs as well?

Oh sweet I will check her out for sure!

woooooow!!! This is amazaing. The color combination looks really like scales.

She's definitely got a special talent!

Good you are back and with so much energy! The hat is lovely and I feel with you in forgetten sometimes the pattern repeat :-DDD
Sorry for you blanket and its not so nice yarn. Hopefully the new yarn you have choosen will go better.

Thank you ^_^ The new yarn has proven more durable and hasn't broke once. It is going good! I will take some pics of it and post it when the time is right :)
