The Gold that make me sappy

These coins are very special to me

not because they are pure gold.

I cherish them because they are tokens of affection

and I value the person who gave these to me.

I got this from Pinterest

The gold coins shown above are two of the favorite gold bullion coins among gold stackers. The most popular gold bullions are: Gold Maple Leaf, Gold Krugerrand, Gold Austria Philharmonic, Gold Australian Kangaroo, Gold Libertad, Gold Panda and of course the American Gold Eagle.

Hold onto your coins for dear life, fair market value coming to a reality near you in the not too distant future.

Personally I love coins. So many to collect, so many unique designs out there too. The first time I saw a Zombucks coin I just about fell out of my chair. And then the Canadian and Australian mint have so many unique coins they've been pumping out that the hunt is never ending. Same with the New Zealand mint, although Aussie and Kiwi coins are bigger and don't fit into standard coin snaps, which is a bummer because 40mm coin holders are harder to find for some reason.

Love the panda coin you got there, I have the silver version kicking around somewhere. Can't go wrong with RCM, they have the best silver refining process in the world, which means their gold coins are just as good because I believe silver is used in the gold refining process.

Hello @argentsilver!
I don't stack to invest. Precious metals for me is a great store of value and wealth. I stack to save (thus SilverSaver, lol). And I stack the "boring" stuff: ASE, US Constitutional silver and fractional gold. It has been hard to keep to just those three categories of coins because as you said, there are so many beautiful silver coins coming at us screaming "buy-me, buy-me", awesome designs... and that's not counting all the pretty hand-poured bars from silver pourers! I hope not to sell my stack unless it was for a grave reason.
If there is one thing I had learned in my stacking journey, it is saying "NO!" to myself!
Thanks for stopping by, and leaving this great comment, my friend.

Sentiment is often more valuable than the metals that make up the coins. They're also very beautiful, so win-win. :)

And yes, you are absolutely right. I read about the affection in general, and it is one that can be bestowed even to strangers, or people you have not met, such one's social media friend.
The gold coins are very beautiful!

I heard that one definition of death is that it means you no longer have impact or affect. Conversely, if something or someone still has affect, then they can't be dead. So when I see mementos I have from loved ones who have passed on, they're still alive because I remember them.

Though it sounds like the person who gave that to you is still alive, so that's even better!

It really makes sense to have family mementos, like gold jewelry or gold coins or almost anything durable, to pass on from one generation to another. I have many mementos from my parents, but it is the gold jewelry that I wear from my Mom that keeps her literally close to me, especially because she wore them.

Very awesome bestie. Huge fan of fractional gold. Probably because i can’t afford an ounce

Likewise here, bestie. I get PMs every month, and I can not afford a full ounce! I stick to 1/10 oz fractionals. I could get a half ounce, but that would mean not buying any other piece for that month. I have not come across a time that I was tempted by a gold piece to do that... but I would blow my entire month's budget for PMs on a hand-poured silver that I really like. And that to me is soooo bad! I hope never to do that.

Gold is always so very pretty, @tattoodjay. If I could, I love to be stacking more in gold, @tattoodjay.

I did have a bunch of gold jewelry that I picked up in the Middle East many years ago, I sold it about 10 years ago to buy a camera and lenses which seemed a good idea at the time, but now I kind of wish I had held n to it

I save in precious metals so that I have something to sell should a need arise. You have put your gold jewelry to good use, I say.

That Canadian Maple is my favorite gold coin. Not too long ago I found out the American Gold Eagles aren't .999 Gold. Kind of blew my mind. They are all 91.67% gold.

I buy mostly fractional gold, and I have at least one from every government mint. When I decided it was time to get my first one ounce gold, I went for the American Gold Buffalo not only because it is so beautiful, but precisely for its purity.

I wonder if I can get those for my IRA 😎

hmmm I read that they are 90% unless I am mistaken???

😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

But yes, I was disappointed cuz that is all I can buy with my IRA

OK I see that it is .9167 or 22k Gold, just like the KRUG.
I like the Maples DESPITE the Hag on there. Just Sayin' 😎

Yeah the Maples are Awesome. After almost 20yrs of stacking and I just found out about the Gold Eagles in the last week. Guess I'm just a Silver kind of guy. LOL
