Aww this was like going on a mini adventure with you! And damn, I can't drive, my driving instructor told me to give up, and fairly certain that legally i can't drive now anyway (health issues, aren't the GP's great haha) but still, I would love to tell you about my first car. My first car was, i thought at the time anyway, badass. Little did I know. My first car, that i tried to learn in was a 1.9l turbo diesel Peugeot boy racer - yeah baby. My mum got me a big NoFear bumper sticker, and damn, it went. Got to flip tummies over speed bumps and everything. But really, the car of legend, powered by hate, copiloted by satans horseman buddy, the icon of an era, the carrier of the torch (and a whole lot of stuff) Furio, has to be the one I tell you about. And i will leave it there, and hopefully actually follow through with a post for you ;)

Ha ha, that is awesome. i had to learn in my mums crappy austin maestro which kind of had the power of a souped up hairdryer 😂

Furio, has to be the one I tell you about.

Hmnnn... I guess that was the name of the car? Rather than the make? I hope I don't come across sexist here, but women tend to name there cars more than men do. I wonder why.

Ha ha, it sounds like you put that Peugeot boy racer through its paces though. I had the joy of driving my old bosses Maserati GranTurismo once. It was my birthday and he said have a go driving this. That was fckn awesome and the most powerful car I've ever had a go driving.

Ahhhh... one day when I win the lottery ;-)

hahaha a souped up hairdryer was probably a smart move ;)

yes, Furio was the name of the car, however it wasn't me who named it, it was my bro, who shared it with me, and also left the horse man bobber in when we stopped sharing it.

Furio was, powered by pure sex appeal, oozing cool and turning heads everywhere, a one year off classic, 3 door fiat uno tin can haha and we loved it, so much. It had belonged to a friends grandma who had only ever driven up and down the road in it, it got in an accident and was written off, i kept it as an ornament for about 3 years before i wasn't given a choice haha. Ohhhh I do miss furio, the hard lines of the exterior, the overall boxy design, the grey dash, the buttons, the sliders, the pattern on the seats. It was an icon of its time and ohhh, i really wish i could have kept it anyway. It was the car for me as well, you know when sometimes people look like they should have the car they have, that was Furio.

Damn though, a Maserati GranTurismo, now isn't that's the kind of car you need to get someone to film you doing push ups in front of for instagram hahaha, did you manage to get somewhere you could really let rip?

But to answer the actual question, i don't know. I don't disagree, and in general women seem more likely to personify things. I for one, love naming things, and with things like pets, i normally get to, but i didn't even think to name my actual first car. Maybe it's an innate skill programmed into us by Disney's push towards motherhood and infant rearing? hahaha

I had so much fun reading this, @raj808! I actually had such a busy day that I had to read it in two stints, but I wanted to enjoy every little morsel of it. You're such a good storyteller. You should be a writer! Oh wait... you are. ANYway, this is great, and a fun challenge. I do have a good story about my first car. I'm sure I will be able to find a bit of time this weekend to write it up.

Why aren't you allowed to camp? Is it because you were not in a designated area? I guess I can understand that.

Hi Jayna... ha ha, I'm quite good at writing these anecdotal posts but I'd never be able to express the craziness of that experience in spoken word. I guess that's a writer thing. It's why some of us are a little shy in person but not online.

It's been super sunny here so I abandoned steem for a few days to get away to the countryside camping and recharge, hence late responses to my comments.

I'd love to read your first car story so definitely tag me if you get round to it. If not, no worries. Life is more important than steem lol

P.s. To answer your question:

Why aren't you allowed to camp? Is it because you were not in a designated area?

Yup, it was most definitely not a designated area 🤣 Snowdon mountain is one of the most walked and visited hikes in the UK. They don't want anyone camping up there, basically because they don't want crowds effecting the habitat. But, I've never been one for following the rules 😉

Also, I wasn't joking about knowing how to camp with 0% Impact on my environment. I've done a few educational courses in bushcraft. I pitched the tent on the pebble beach by the lake so as not to disturb the grass even. Raised my cooking stove up from the ground and left no litter. Even where I pitched the tent I smoothed over as I packed it away while that ranger was going ballistic at me. He knew I knew what I was doing as well, so I'm not too sure why his reaction was so extreme tbh. I think he was just a dick lol

But... technically it is national trust land so it's a grey area if what I was doing was legal. There are no signs saying no camping but I think it does say on the national trust website that no wild camping is allowed on their land. At least it does now 🤣

Not quite the same as mine.. and it was the 2nd car that I fell in love with. The first was a discarded car to me.. cheap and that's about it.

Yeah, to be fair my favourite car was the one I had to scrap last year which was q Mondeo turbo which could shift like sht off a shovel.

But that van had a special place in my heart. After 11 years, since passing my test at 19, that first crappy escort van 11 years later was a dream for me.

Just the freedom of jumping in the van and driving the shop was a novelty that didn't fade for at least 6 months. But the freedom to travel to scuba dive sites all over the UK was amazing. And wild camping most weekends during the summer.

I haven't got a car right now so I guess I'm pretty nostalgic 🤣

Hehe I am 25 and dont have a car of my own yet, i can totally relate :p

And i think you were adventurous and hopeful back then that is how it worked out. I like that crazy not had coffee picture :):)

Ha ha, yes the crazy not had coffee picture is a doozy.

I'm a little self conscious about my smile as I knocked one of my teeth half loose in a skateboarding accident when I was a teenager. I nearly didn't post that pic. I'm glad I did now if it made some people smile it's worth stepping out of my comfort zone 🙂

Yeah Gotcha righty, the teeth makes you unique, own it :):) just like in the 'not coffeed' picture :)

I actually I'm turning 25 this year September really and I haven't really bought or had a car lol my father didn't have any either so I didn't inherit lol, but I think I had a bike, a motorcycle and it was what I had when I turned 20 really, well getting your own by 30 is a milestone lol hahahaha wow not bad in my opinion if you ask me.
It's emotional to reminsce when you were really healthy and fighting no illnesses at all really, I pray you have those days ago in earnest really.
And as for your then girlfriend I think sometimes we tend to adjust our crazy side to accommodate our babes because we love them really.

Ah well, plenty of time yet my friend. If steem takes off to the stratosphere you can get something swish :)

Absolutely! I didn't mind adjusting for her... and I did still go wild camping, just not with her cause she didn't want to come along. Lol, I did my wild man of Borneo thing alone 😂

Hahahaha awesome GIF there hahahaha well nothing like going on those crazy hikes I won't give it up not for even love lol I think it's really memorable and like you said first things and first times makes us fall in love really.

Thanks for the tagging extravaganza - It's good that I'm not the sole tag as I have never owned a car!

Nope, driven around occasionally by others, it's been a life of public transportation for me. I have hired a few in recent years, and they are pretty handy, but I think I could do with just my bike, and a bus pass when I'm 68 (and the rest).

Fucking park rangers though, I wish I'd 'owned' one of them!

but I think I could do with just my bike, and a bus pass when I'm 68 (and the rest).

Well, that's nothing to be ashamed of m8. Little to no Carbon footprint other than airplane flights! There are very few of us who can say the same.

I think that many people rely on cars far too much. I know I did in my last job when I had to commute. I could have got the train, but driving was more convenient and saved me around 30 mins, in a stressful job that had me on the clock well over my contract hours. But that's all excuses, I could have done without a vehicle for sure.

Cheers for checking out my post 🙂
