Have you ever touched someone's heart?

This is one of my childhood memory that I wish to share today.

This incident has registered very strongly on my mind, I don't think I will ever forget it cause this person has left a deep impression on me. Even though I was so young but it feels like it happened yesterday...

This was when I was around 8 years old and in class 3. Since my family conditions were not very good and pleasant I was sent to an orphanage along with my elder sister. It was a tough time, there was nothing like Love in those premises, everything was very basic, I dont even remember as a child if I ever played with any toys also. By the age of 9 we had started washing our own clothes and utensils. Those were not the days of washing machine so everything had to be done by self. It was tough, it was like I was just growing up with the passing time.

At that age health wise I was very weak, most of the time I was sick down with fever. Then there were times when I used to not tell anyone if I was down with fever and in that place it was like no one bothered also...

In all this growing up I came across a lot of people some of them nice and showed lot of sympathy but never love and some harsh ones also.

It was one of those days at school when I was down with high fever, so in the break time I put my head down and went to sleep. Suddenly I felt a gentle hand over my head and as I looked up, was my class teacher, her name was Yasmin. She asked me what was the matter and I told her I was unwell and started crying.

She hold me and gave me a warm hug which till date I cannot forget because that was the most I wanted that time, and as I write this also I have tears in my eyes remembering that whole incident and her face flashing in front of me. After that she got me a warm cup of milk and made me drink and gave me a medicine. That day I felt like my own mother was taking care of me. She showered so much of Love and showed so much compassion towards me in that half an hour break that till date its been more than 35 years but I cannot forget her.

She touched my heart and soul in every possible way. Sometimes even the world richest thing cant bring you happiness that just a warm hug and a compassionate gesture can give you.

As I grew up I had a lot of affection build up for her, but after I left my school I have never been able to meet her.

I learned a lot from this small incident, she left a deep impact on me. I used to always think that when I grow up I want to be like her. I don't know how much I have succeeded but I try to do my best. I get very sensitive when it cones to children, cause whatever hapoens to them in childhood goes with them in their heart and mind all through out their lives.

I do not like to talk about my childhood much as it brings a lot of pain, but some instances I do share, because what I am now people think that I have had a merry life and I would have no understanding of what hardship is all about. But I want to give a message that everyone has their share its just when we dont know, so take each of those tough days as a learning and progress in life just not materially but at soul level also.

This only proves how a small random act of kindness can make so much difference. I wish my teacher Yasmin is in Good health and high spirits always. God bless this beautiful soul.

From now on irrespective of the topic of my post all my post will always have this reminder

Have you done your random act of kindness today?

With Love and Angels Blessings 💖💖👼🏻👼🏻

Thank you Noam

That is really beautiful, you are touching hearts by sharing that story Naina. I am so aware that even a smile can make the world of difference to someone having a bad time. You are carried a little bit of that compassion inside you ever since, I'm sure.

A lot of people have amazing stories from there past. Sometimes we forget, because we are familiar with our story, that they can add massive value to others. I always appreciate when someone says, "I've been there and you will be just fine."

That's so true, I believe everyone has a past to talk about, its good to share it as a part of learning with a larger audience. Because most of the time people say "Why Me", but the fact is that it's not only you, everyone is fighting their own battle.

My father always says "help your neighbor, do not expect something in return. Good things always come from nothing and happen to good people." People like that, are unforgettable.
@nainaztengra

I agree with what your father say, even the Bible make it clear,Take heed that ye,do not your arms before men, to be seen of them, so what ever you good you do, don't expect anything in return

Thank you @hopehuggs for sharing the feelings with me, Yes I do feel very compassionate when it comes to children but at the same time sometimes I completely switch off which is one area of improvement for me.

A heart touching story! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Chetan :-)

With a few tweaks, the post will get at least a million shares on a blog like lifehack. Thanks for this amazing write-up, Nainaz!

Then it is with all of us in a way...

Last night I was thinking if I had been successful in one of my innumerable suicide attempts between 1997-2000, I would be old enough now in my new life to repeat the cycle. Something or the other would happen and I would still be alive after a fresh attempt to kill myself.

Had a hearty laugh yesterday! Someone told me during those days, " One day you will laugh." At that time, I thought he is the biggest liar on earth. Ironically, I don't know either whether he is dead or alive - last met him in 2002.

That being said, we often stumble upon relationships and life partners who have been through similar experiences.

Thanks again for giving us a small glimpse of the path you traveled!

Jai ho!!

Thank you for sharing your story @superstar2018. I can understand that when life gets too tough you just want to quit, but that's where we all need to build that understanding and come to a level of maturity that everything happens for a reason. Now when you look back you laugh and understand that was such a insane thing you thought about but yes when you are going through it they seem to be your worst nightmares. Life keeps on asking for too much patience at every step. God bless the person who came into your life at the right moment with the right advice :-)

This is touching, I know life at orphange ain't fun. it must be sad in there not to have a fun childhood. Mrs Yasmin is such a kind soul and God will reward her for her kindness. You are a very grateful person to still remember her and know she impacted greatly in your life. Most people tend to forget who helped them but you ain't most people. As you remembered Mrs Yasmin for her good deeds God will also remember you and bless you.

Those are some beautiful blessings @tutufaith, and I am grateful to you for that. Yes people like my teacher are very rare and we such people should always be given respect, no amount of respect is enough for them. As far as childhood is concerned I guess it was a part of my learning, so better move on with it :-)

God bless yasmin wherever she is!
Very touching story dear
I'm a children's teacher in my church and i come across different kids with different issues, some of them just need a little attention and others just want to get away from troubles of home even if its just for the few hours they spend with us.
I do my best as a teacher to help them feel safe and loved and seeing this post, i know for sure that my efforts are not in vain
Thanks for sharing! @nainaztengra

I always have a lot of respect for the teachers, it's the most noble and selfless profession. Teachers set the base for children, they show them the path and the whole meaning of life to the children. In the few hours spent they can make a world of a difference.
But it's also sad that every teacher does not understand this, while I have a very pleasant memory of my teacher but my son does not. When he was very young in his nursery class, he was a very quiet child, and his teacher used to keep nagging him, every second day I was called in the school for a complaint, he was pushed to the last bench and she used to terrorize him, within a month I had to remove him from the school as my son had just started speaking and with this behavior from his teacher he completely stopped speaking.
I am so glad that you are a good soul and taking care of your children so well :-)

Wow thank you I am a teacher, and my heart melt when I read this kind of message from yours @nainaztengra .. Your story is really a touching story.. Though we are struggling sonetimes but we need to be strong to be a successful individual and thats what makes as a human ..

You are so right, even with all the struggles we go through we need to stay strong if we want to be successful.
My due respects to you and your noble profession @micch

That's come what maybe God is good :) He always guide us everything through thick and thin ..even when we are in the lowest point of our lives :)

Thank you so much @nainaztengra

Teaching children can be difficult...It requires a lot of patience and understanding and also genuine interest. You can't have a bad day and take it out on kids. They are just kids, what do they know. I love children and I love spending time with them. Even the very stubborn ones. When you get to know them of course by interaction you discover that they are just as pure and innocent as every other kid.
I'm glad your son grew with his mother and I'm glad you were quick to notice the effect school was having on him.
Thumbs up!

Hi @nainaztengra
I am sorry for the tough time you had to face in such a n innocent age, when we don't know what is wright and what is wrong for us.
But I believe that god is always with us,the teacher you met might be the face of the God,who came to support you and look after you at your hard time.
But that love ur wright, you will never ever forget in your life.
Oh God! Please always be there for ur Children.
Regards @crafter

So very true @crafter, she truly was a face of God. Thank you for your kind and loving words.
All that happened must be for my good, else I would not have been the person what I am today, so in a way I am grateful to the universe. :-)

It should have been really tough, people like your teacher are the remembrance of good intentions of others. I try not to forget those people and to help others, if I can.

We should never forget people who cross our path and make a difference to us, else it would be the most ungrateful thing in this universe. Such good people are rare to find.

the story touches the deepest corners of the heart as well as that woman you described..
kindness is a rare characteristic of a person nowadays, and when somebody shows it it seems like a real miracle. Strange and horrorful times.
Our memory has really a great function to save such tender moments for years...

and by the way, your style and manner of writing is very great! I was reading in one breath though I am not an English-speaker. Thank you!

Yes I always say Miracles happen, at times when you lose hope completely that is the perfect moment of getting a helping hand. Thank you very much @taliakerch for your interest and kindness :-)
