TREASURE FINDS: Win 50 Steem!
I love wombling. That verb makes no sense unless you know what a womble is, huh? They were - are - pointy nosed creatures created by Elisabeth Beresford into a children's book, which became a BBC children's show. They lived in burrows, where they aim to help the environment by collecting and recycling rubbish in creative ways. They also eat the stuff that humans leave behind or look over, like mushrooms and acorn juice and fir cone souffle.
To womble, in my family vernacular, is to find and gather things that might be useful - the treasures other people discard or look over. @steematt is particularly excellent at this, and makes a profit from it - clever womble. @walkerland and @goldenoakfarms are also good at finding treasures - at yard sales, or the beauty of cut flowers in a garden. Treasures both. @nateonsteemit is a treasure hunter too - check his excitement when he finds a good pile of leaves.
If you caught my excitement over my orange teapot, you will get it. Little found treasures can make the heart sing.
This week I had another bargain find. I really wanted a proper worm farm and was considering making one, but thought I would wait for the gods and goddesses of found treasures to bring me one. And then lo! One appeared on the online market place I was searching on. 15 bucks for a worm farm that normally costs 90. I couldn't make it for that cheap, or something so neat! What a #treasurefind! And then the coffee machine that just magically appeared via my parents. Thanks folks! We love it - so generous of you, and how on earth did you know that's what we wanted?
Treasure finds don't even have to be material. They can take the form of knowledge, personal revelations, gifts, meetings and all sorts of joyful little moments where a treasure is revealed.
So yep, I'm starting a new hashtag called #treasurefinds on steem, because I also get a kick out of OTHER people's finds.

Yep, I know I offered 50 in the title, but I'm not going to give away that much if I get one entry. That's just silly. I'm going to wait til I get at least 20 entries, even if it takes til Christmas. I know right!!! I've been keeping an extra eye out for valuable things I can flip because of his skills !! Inspiring.
I just posted some recent salvaged finds, but don't want to steal the show since I'm a bit more extreme with the treasures I obtain. If I add the tag, please just enjoy the post and save your VP for others. Also, my name has a typo above which might send people to a dead end.

Lol, it’s a free for all my friend ! Don’t let my style of steeming in any way dictate the steem etiquette, I had just previously commented myself and figured I’d give the comments section a more organic perhaps discord vibe. As far as where the river flows time will always tell. I was surprised to see the post as I know where the river beds it’s very late or very early.

lol. most of my heart treasures are pieces of wood, metal, bones and fluff, an odd painting i pulled from the junk, photos, books or a thrift store find. i really need to go marie kondo on some of it tho, my life is too cluttered.
YES!!!! These are ABSOLUTELY #treasurefinds .... please share! One of my favourite finds is a fossil rock from the first day I spent with my man. And an amazing wind sculptured rock from the Sahara.

Ohhhh this is such a poetic tag! :D I did have a #treasurefind today so I might make a post somewhere in the coming days :D I love going to second hand stores and find old lamps and cloths and stuff in general :D Cheers!!!
Yes!!! Please share... that kind of stuff gives me a real buzz! Yesterday I found a thick woven cane basket from a thrift store (we call them opportunity shops) which I had been looking for for my kindling for the grand price of $2. I love that feeling of finding a bargain!!!

Resteemed to spread the word about your new tag! My last #treasurefind was a stack of eight pallets! They'll be turned into... Well... Something. Idk what. Maybe a composting toilet. Maybe a playground for the kids if they can behave enough and go to bed on time for once. Maybe a treehouse. Maybe a cabin in the woods where I can run away from the awake all night monster zombie kids.

That made me laugh! Do they get a lot of sugar or other excitement after 8? We found out that a less strict bed time works wonders. Of course combined with some slow down activity.

I was commenting that as I was doing battle with the beasts, so their rebellion may have been overstated. ;)
A wind down period is always the best approach for us too, but I'm pretty strict about bedtime. I've only got a couple of hours a day to see Melissa and talk to her, and I get kinda peeved when the kids interfere with that.
Of course, that's probably just my grumpy unsuitability to fatherhood. Since shortly before the first one was born, my line was "he's encroaching on my space." That hasn't gotten better as they've grown in number and power.

Beautiful concept and I’m hoping to catch the waves of treasure island as well. I had a wonderful day and actually just made an atypical no drama post about it. I attribute much of my vibes to the treasure trove you tucked away in plain sight via NM. I’m grateful to have finally become a participant in such a feel good steem nook. For now that’s my not so hidden gem ! Though I did uncover a bail of rich and fertile compost that was abandoned behind my house. I’m going to scoop it up and plant some seeds tomorrow at the school so the kids can have fresh veggies and herbs. I’ve got the aquaponics kicking but have slacked on the dirt work. I suppose that will be my official entry. Thanks again for your steem style and helping to inspire me to be a better me.

@skramatters this is why I adore you. You can be satirical and purposefully hilariously antagonistic, intelligently acerbic and knife sharp, but you also have this gorgeously gooey side that finds joy in the simple things that make the world a better place. Finding compost is a joyful treasure! Im still overcoming my jealousy from seeing @wildhomesteading s huge mulch treasure this week!

Will be sure to check out those guys as I need some tips, I am moving dreckly so will have to kit out my house! Any good recycling option will be greatly received. Always great to see people reusing there is so many great ideas out there that need to be promoted 💯🐒
