Making More Income On Steemit; Minnow Problems

As new comers we're all driven by this desire to make money, it's what got most of us to join this platform in first place, but time goes by and you still see yourself hanging back when others are making loads of money, they would drop a post and get like 500$ or more but what's the difference ? Why are they making that happen and you can't, even if you post really good content?

It's not you the problem nor your content, it's your activity on the platform you see for those people to be able to make that amount of money on theirs posts they had to start from scratch and invest in Steemit. "You would say but how ? Everyone keeps saying that I should invest in Steemit but what if I don't have money? If I had any money to invest I wouldn't be here won't I? "

You see this is where you're wrong, investing, doesn't mean just money, you can invest your efforts, time and energy and sometimes that pays back better than investing actual cash.

Invest yourself in building a following, I'm pretty sure you've heard this before "Find posts that you like and comment them" this statement is true, and I've had to try it by myself to actually believe in it. Let's take a small and silly example here; before a president gets elected he reaches out to the community, he travels goes to see them, talks to them, he solves theirs problems etc..

It's the same thing here, Steemit is your community and the only way to grow is by interacting and sympathizing with each other, going out there reading every post that you find interesting and giving your opinion on it, that cash isn't going to come in easy, just take a look at the famous steemians, they are famous, they are making big income but they are still dedicating a huge amount of time and energy to make quality content, so go out there and make it work!

Thank you once again for reading, I appreciate your time.

My dear fellow Steemian, you were so right when you said,

investing, doesn't mean just money, you can invest your efforts, time and energy...

Although it's not always all what we have to invest or at least not the only parameters that would determine our success or not, engagement with other community members for sure is one of the most significant ones that may not only influence but even change our entire future path.

I'm happy to see that you have recognized and realized that at this early stage of your Steemit journey! 🙂👍

I agree with you. Thank you for reading!

It definitely makes sense to reach out and interact and engage with others. I have heard it said that many of the world's greatest writers were also voracious readers, and I don't see Steemit as being an exception to that... to succeed, get out there and read, read, read...

Exactly, we have to keep in mind that this is a social media platform so we must get out there and socialize

You probably wont see many 500 dollar blogs from people with a one cent vote. To be honest I almost don't want to invest in a friendship with a redfish because they all seem to quit steemit. I prefer to vote for people who are in Steem long term. I invited a friend here and upvoted all his posts 100 percent vote power then he quit, I was like well those were all wasted votes now, I should have used that voteower on someone who is going to stay. I invested a bit of money here and there, I have faith I will one day sell it for a lot more than 88 cents. My other crypto holding don't allow me any profits unless the value goes up, steem lets you make steem. I only saw your post because offgridlife resteemed, I never check the new section on steemit this place has poor setup for getting new users stuff exposed.

I see, you kinda make a point, but giving upvotes to the accounts who don't really need it is like adding water to the ocean, I suggest you find someone who's playing long term and help him out it might not be me or it might be me, but don't go all 100%on famous bloggers they already got what they need, thank you for taking the time to read my post I appreciate it.

Voting for big big accounts is so you hope they vote you back, someone with a zero cent vote upvoting my blog is pretty much useless. I am not saying YOU won't be here in a year, just 99 percent of new accounts won't be, good luck. You dont really help your fellow low SP users by upvoting them if you are also low SP. It's a common mistake, the facebook steemit groups are full of people asking for upvote for upvote. I's totally pointless. I'd rather trade comment for comment and join steem-ua, but that's another thing you need SP for.
My biggest recommendation for new users is to comment as much as you can on bigger users blogs.

Very good points @viraldrome ... there are a few great whales here who will reward handsomely for well thought out comments.... @drakos @neoxian @hebrew @papa-pepper .... all the $1 Steem upvotes Add up

I also joined WEKU where they started me off with $100 ... I am hoping I can some day convert all my WEKU $$$ to Steem on some exchange .... https://deals.weku.io/pick_account?referral=offgrid

Alright I'll check it out!

Yes i read your whole conversation mates... You are absolutely right about the comment thing. As a newcomer, I also used to comment a lot... Which was actually increasing my growth exponentially in steemit. But after hf20, with 25-27 sp how can i communicate with people? We planktons and newcomers only had that one weapon to gain exposure in steemit... But the fork snatched that from us too... I also have created a post on this issue! Hopefully i got some help from my friends (dynamicsteemians group delegated me 30 sp) and also i powered up my sp using all the steem and sbd I had but i think its not even nearly enough! Not 99%,it seems whole 100% of the newcomers and even elders who are with less sp will leave steemit if they are being treated like that way. @viraldrome

Posted using Partiko Android

I know the HF20 was pretty hard on all of us but look, you can join the community I'm part of, to help you grow if you're okay let me know I'll give you my discord

Posted using Partiko Android

This actually makes more sense, I agree with toj, the upvote for upvote thing is pretty useless exchanged between low SP accounts

Posted using Partiko Android

you re right but there is a but....

As long the small fishes dont get seen , then they loose the interesse into steemit... so its the doubled sword of damokeles... You say you dont vote em because they MAYBE leave Steemit again , but believe me the most stop posting because they dont get a vote ...

Minnows and Plankton NEED Votes they need Feedback, they need peeps which know how handle Steemit... You want active dudes so help em to be Active, dont hide behind a wall and feed this which have enough... Show a Minnow how to grab a SBD and he will do it again and again ... Feed a whale and all you maybe get is a smile

Very well said. It's a social network. That implies there should be some social networking. It's not just a blog. It's important to keep that in mind.

Exactly! Thank you for reading!

Very good post. I have not invested one penny to buy Steem. I have just been blogging and Sharing my ideas, original artwork and photography since June 2017.... at one point I had earned over $30,000 USD here on Steemit just from blogging... I just keep blogging. Every day. Upvoted, Resteemed and Followed. I came to your blog because you left a very interesting comment on my latest blog post about God.

Posted using Partiko iOS

That's amazing! I hope to reach that one day, for now I just keep blogging everyday

Posted using Partiko Android

Yeah... that’s the ticket. Just keep blogging. Some whale will discover your work and your posts will get upvoted by $80 at a time. It happened to me.

Posted using Partiko iOS

I hope so, one day.. thanks for the motivation!

Posted using Partiko Android

Well... now I see you are also on @Partiko earning Partiko points every time you post, comment or upvote... so you are getting extra Steem ... soon you will be a Whale yourself and can Upvote your own great posts with $100 a pop

Posted using Partiko iOS

Who knows maybe I'll outrun some of the current whales hahaha just staying positive and motivated!

Posted using Partiko Android

You can cash out 6900 @Partiko points for .41 Steem and probably eventually a whole lot more.... when Steem hits $100 you will be a Millionaire

It is certainly a huge benefit for your own blog if you invest time enjoying other people's work, and take the time to leave a thoughtful comment relevant to the post content.

Communities also help, and the more you are "visible" on various discords and engage with people regularly the greater the chance they will look out for your latest work.

That's exactly what I noticed from my small experience here on steemit participating in community activities or just interacting with others can make you more visible, thank you for your comment and the resteem!

Well said @raoufwilly. Engagement is the success factors here. Even though we don't make enough money from this platform, we can definitely make good friends here.

Posted using Partiko Android

Exactly, at least we win friendship!

The problem is being limited on how much I can post. I keep wanting to write replies, to engage with people not just for money, and am unable to post, it is very frustrating.

delegated some steem power to you @moneymosey, it should help with posting and commenting more frequently.

Thank you so much!

Yes being limited because you have low SP can suck but don't give up make good content and it will come by itself your account will grow and you'll get over this problem easily

Posted using Partiko Android

You can also join the Helpie community it would give you a nice push as a newcomer, so if you want that just tell me and I'll add you up.

Posted using Partiko Android

That would be fantastic, yes, please add me. Thank you!

What's your discord @moneymosey ?

Posted using Partiko Android

moneymosey is my discord. I have never actually used it, but I am sure I will figure it out eventually. :) Thanks

What's the identification number that comes next to your discord name ?

This is very great. I choose your post for C2 curation collective.

But we still need to invest money to make interacting. Curiosity will come later I think. Good luck and keep steeming.

That would be great, thank you!
