What's going on every body I'm PEEEWWWWWDIEPIE! Haha - used to make gaming videos I think, still does, maybe? Not my taste either but you can't argue with the subscriber count he has! IF he brings that level of interaction on the steem blockchain, holy smokes, it will go up quicker than you can research what a Pewdiepie is haha
I get where you're coming from but I'm not sure how much they would bring in the first instance. I can't see the majority of them investing much into steem unless PewDiePie convinced them they had to buy a few hundred steem kinda like a subscription fee. But in the long term I see exactly what people are saying, it could start a catalyst of mainstream YouTubers coming to steem and bringing some of their audience with them. That would be huge.
Lol, but with this post I was just in a piss taking mood. PewDiePie is really not my cuppa tea.

I wonder if there are any other YouTubers I can target with my satirical whacking stick ๐
hahahahahahaha! The only reason I know Pewdiepie is because I have homeschooled kids who do nothing but watch videos and play games when they have the chance. LOL. (I know what non-unschoolers will think of this, but my kids learn all day long, no worries there).
I have to say that even though they know everything about this guy, he's not their favourite, and I am pretty sure he's not the best gamer (I even know the number 1 and 2's names lol).
I went ahead and watched the video (@zainenn's) and it's some pretty damn good news, because if Pewdiepie (he IS one of the best earners on ShitTube, Twitch etc.) is on dlive, the next logical step would absolutely be dtube, and that would be HUGE! If one crazy video making millionnaire comes to us, then his other crazy video making millionnaire friends will absolutely follow. Meaning, we'll all be swimming in Steem soon after.
As for the videos you need to watch, now that you're at home on your diet, there's a little one that will make you laugh for sure. My son and I laugh our butts off every time he puts it on and we are even talking of making a parody of it.
This guy has 1.8 million followers ๐ฑ and this video is HILARIOUS!

P.s. I agree that PewDiePie coming to steem would bump the price in the long term. A mass migration from YouTube to DTube would make us all pretty well off ๐ค

Well, maybe if PewDiePie and all his friends join here, then at least you'll be able to afford some better equipment.

It is a fair point @cryptopie but I couldn't care less tbh. Honestly mate, no one should hold back on their opinions on steem just because of crowd mentality. Many people talk about the greatness of steem being its ability to resist censorship and I agree. If I don't like his content then I don't like his content. And if that makes me want to write a comedy post about that fact, well why censor myself lol. Steem will develop and win out regardless of PewDiePie or anyone else.
It's also a great thing about steem, that anyone can express their views and we can discuss the merits of a YouTuber from half way across the world like this. I appreciate your thoughts m8 ๐
In a strange way Pewdiepie brought me here
The kids wanted to be Pewdiepie and pestered me for a YouTube channel for the longest time.
First I checked his channel and flipped because of the language and banned them from watching him.
They moved on to more kosher guys (now they watch him though because they are older) but never gave up the dream of being the next YT sensation.
And then this, that and the other... here I am.
I did find this funny, I do like your sense of humour :)
And like you, I am not too fussed about it
So he has gone over to the other side. It's his prerogative.
In a way, this brings people's attention to blockchain and inadvertently Steem

I guess this why I never seen him. I'm not of the YouTube generation and I don't have any kids. But I do watch some people on YouTube but mainly for crypto news if I'm honest. Omar (Cypt0) and IvanonTech are pretty much my YouTube people I watch. I was more upset when I saw IvanonTech bringing up a Dlive window on his stream this morning. Obviously jumping on the bandwagon and it does prove the point that other YouTubers with big following may just follow the PewDie dude ๐
I saw @theycallmedan's post about looking for a Dev to try and make a serious streaming dapp for steem and I do agree it's needed and good on him for going for that with his capital!

All that happened with that is people in India will not be allowed to view the video, it was censored for everyone there...that is sad, nothing else (in my opinion).
Dunno about that. If he has made up lies then it's fair enough he gets sued. I honestly don't know much about the PewDiePie guy. Seriously, that's the first I knew about him talking about someone else when you mentioned it here. Lol... I don't even know who T-series is.

I mean, come on, who thinks of a name like that haha. Never thought about the meaning behind it, I simply don't care either..

Tbh the name PewDiePie was what inspired the inner sarcastic critic in me to take over and enter full-on rant mode lol As they say 'better out than in' ๐
It's not great at the moment if I'm honest, the chronic illness. but not all doom and gloom as I start a new treatment tomorrow which I'm going to write a blog about as it's very complicated. If the treatment works it could resolve at least some of the issues that have been limiting me the last 6 years, so that is good ๐ I've learned not to hope too much as everything else I've tried has failed so far. It's like purposeful negative thinking before a test, like if you expect an 'A' you've only one in five chance to be satisfied but if you expect a 'C', the odds of being satisfied go up and the chance of disappointment down.

I think he is a case study in marketing. Youtube picked him up and ran with him and then dropped him when he went too far in pandering to certain facets of his audience. Youtube has been done with him for a while. I do envy dlive the media fervor attached to this though. Reality is a media play. Whoever owns the means of information dispersion, owns everythingโ.
