This is a continuation post of the story of my 1st year on the STEEM platform and its related interfaces.

The Piracy Chronicles (12th December 2018)

image.png

I may regret revealing some of the things I did in what seems like a previous life (25 years ago), but at least @dismayedworld can read all about my past sordid life at some time in the future when she's passed this teenage boredom stage.

Dolphin II (18th December 2018)

I had been quietly powering up since the end of Steemfest and watching the price of STEEM decline. It was a case of trying to keep my vote at the same value and this could only be achieved by countering the ever reducing value with more Steem Power. Dolphin II is 20,000 STEEM.

image.png

@nuthman was doing the same as me at this time, someone I had met recently at a similar SP level to myself.

SteemMonsters (13th January 2019)

Even @steevc started playing SteemMonsters before me (and he's a self-confessed non-gamer) and to say I was a slow starter is an understatement.

image.png

I do regret not seeing the Alpha cards and my first daily reward was a Beta pack. After that sole pack, it was those reward cards that are now common and mostly valueless. I was too late to get more Betas unless I paid for them.

It was a conscious decision to keep away as I knew the addiction would get me, and it did for a short time. I still think it's the best game on the blockchain but we need more from it besides tournaments.

DrugWars (13th February 2019)

The same mistake would not be made with the second ‘proper’ game to hit the STEEM blockchain and I was there right from the start. Except it was not a game at all, more a way of making ROI.

image.png

I can’t complain about DrugWars, it has made me probably over 30 STEEM now for little work.

image.png

What will happen to it I don’t know. For me, it’s just some semi-passive income every day and that’s all.

dTube discontentment (20th February 2019)

Was this a case of sour grapes? Perhaps it was but I vowed never to use the dTube dApp from the point forward simply because of expectation and disappointment.

image.png

I wasn’t in the dTube ‘gang' and the double work I had to do was yielding me fewer rewards due to the 10% cut of using the dTube dApp. Still, I learned how to make vlogs using Moviemaker.

TekMinnows Project (25th February 2019)

@steevc came up with a plan to increase the number of Minnows to 10,000. It took a while to get this project off the ground but with the help of @paulag and @pennsif it has now really got moving.

image.png
Source

I have taken a back seat somewhat but pledged to delegate 1000SP for a month to the @tenkminnows account to help some of the 400-499SP active Steemians get past their landmark.

Is Steemit is a Scam? (10th March 2019)

This got so much attention due to the click-bait title that I got a little stampeded by it. 110 comments and 34 resteems later it seemed like the entire blockchain had read it.

image.png

I didn’t set out to with this intention, it was simply another of my regular opinions about STEEM and was more focused toward the Twitter crowd.

To be honest I’m relieved to have finished writing all this One Year content. Its hard work backtracking and finding all these key articles I wrote and I am feeling some burnout.

If I don’t post as much in the next week this is the reason. Sometimes you need to back off and do something else.

wow what a lot of massive amount that you have been involved with, thank you sooooo much for being part of this make250 new minnows in a month push and the #tenkminnow event. Happy paddys weekend :-)

Some interesting milestones and revelations here. The discontent with DTube but still acknowledging having benefited skills wise is commendable. Stay positive!

I'll likely forget how do make vlogs if I ever do them again, the other problem with these is I don't like the sound of my own voice. Its a confidence thing.

I had to do double take's on Urbex trips.. still shots and then video footage. I would rather stick with the stills.

Congrats on everything mentioned and more being done but not mentioned in part 1 or 2
Would you have done anything different knowing what you know now bring a dolphin 2.0?

I dont think so, I powered up at the right time.. unles it crashes to 10c or something.., but you cant always get this at the lowest point.

Nice recap! It is too bad that you didn't get into Steem Monsters sooner. I tried to talk you into it, but I didn't want to pressure you. The return for those that got in early has been pretty decent. I sold some more of my Alpha summoners yesterday.

Its a regret, but we have to move on. The rule with STEEM based games, is get in as quick as humanly possible.

Ain't that the truth!

Well, I think more than ever we should all be powering up our accounts. I believe sooner than later price will go up again. Congratulations on reaching your milestone. I am sure it was not an easy task and it took some effort and continuity. Someday I might get there.. lol someday...

I still have to check out these games, but just sometimes life gets tricky and I just don't time for it. But, I will.

Have a great day, my friend. :)

I can feel you running out of steem with this post. Don't excuse the pun, I need acknowledgement - it was a very windy park run this morning and one of the guys in the changing room commented 'still, good turn out besides the weather', my response of 'yeah, I guess more people are getting wind of it', completely missed him.

I wonder if it's sunk in yet?

Anyway, Dolphin II obviously a great milestone!

When I heard @dsound had it's delegation removed, literally the first thing that came into my head was 'and not fucking @dtube?, WTF is going on?'

There is a lot of mediocre shit getting regular upvotes from that account and it annoys me when it's all from a delegation.

And then games, games, games. You should have a closer look at drugwars. Now I've almost broken even with my investment I'm going to think about battling.

I've made at least a couple more connections due to the minnows thing, so it's good as far as I'm concerned.

Steem on, or off for the week as the case may be, or off for the week as the case may be!

I can feel you running out of steem with this post.

Your correct in picking it up. I'm writing tomorrow post now and its much better. Be warned if you do one of these posts... it gets old fast.

When I heard @dsound had it's delegation removed, literally the first thing that came into my head was 'and not fucking @dtube?, WTF is going on?'

I got over it now.. I just felt annoyed at the time. I never did like doing vlogs anyway.. double work.

DrugWars? Its a habit.. no pun... but 10 mins a day and I have 1.5 STEEM. Is that a better rate of pay than McDonalds?

It hardly sounds like a case of drugs to riches. How are you spending 10 minutes a day on it - all you need to is upgrade buildings and pay into the daily heist, it takes about a minute twice a day.

I might have to set up a steem pun competition - it'd be a pay on words.

Alright.. more like 2 mins then.. drugs money is 100% heisted, the rest is used for buying beef. The beef gets bigger and so its not worth attacking me as I keep all my 'stock' below the repo levels and the army is huge.

Boring.. but I just cant be arsed with it.

I've always preferred build games. But I don't like the 'pay more to upgrade quicker model'.

Have you made your money back yet?

!bookkeeping drugwars

Yes, ages ago.. at least 30 STEEM up now.

Good for you!

Why isn't this damn command working

I also never took to dTube... I really am not sure I like their curation strategy. I see many videos of dubious quality get upvotes, and I had one plagarist rip off one of my posts, and dTube never removed their vote... even after acknowledging that it was a plagarised post.

You've certainly had a momentous year and invested a lot of time and energy as well as money, and with some fabulous achievements along the way. I enjoy your writing, especially the little wry comments that sidle in, almost of their own accord, and I appreciate your contribution to the wider steem ecosystem.
Steem can't be everything, though, and taking a break is a good policy now and then. Enjoy your rest :)

Thanks Shani, boy I'm I glad this series is over... it started well but I started getting bored halfway through the second part. Will be good to be back to my usual stuff.

I see you have passed me up a few 1000 Steem since we were both powering up! To be fair, I started watering it down by buying up cheap whaleshares tokens.

Very cool journey my friend!

Thanks,,, but tell me about the whales.. is it worth bothering with? I have an account but haven't looked since the first time.. I cross-posted and it was like the early STEEM days... $0.00! haha!

haha, well I have been building up a group of friends on there and getting some great support. You should join the Whaleshares moon base server on discord run by @derangedvisions.

There are a lot of cool peeps on there. I get 10x more money per post there than here. You should at least cross post! I'll vote for ya :)

Interesting, so you bought some whaleshes using fiat? Is there some equiv of blocktrades to do this.

I did buy some with fiat, but I have also been buying with steem. You can buy bts directly with steem using blocktrades. It goes right to your bitshares account.

Download the rudex app and use it to trade bts for wls. Then you can use the deposit/withdraw function on rudex to send it to your whaleshares account.

It is all a bit more complicated than it should be, but once you get your head around bitshares, it isn't too bad.

You make some interesting reads SC.

And you have alerted me to the world of UrbEx.

Your Tasteem reports have added value - hopefully a watch-this-spacer...

I expect I should take breaks, but I find it hard to. Instead I usually just to jump on to a new project or rejig my radio shows to keep it freshening 😃

You make some interesting reads SC.

Well.. thanks!

I think sometimes people don't read anything.. so this comes as a surprise. There's so much to read and so little time.. so what I say is understandable.

I have 3 more Urbex's I have to write up, they are all from my West Yorkshire trip. I'm thinking its time for another expedition soon.
