Plagiarist Bitches Like This Need to be Dealt With!

I am so fucking mad at people who steal pictures from all over the internet to make a profit in here with those. We dealt with one account yesterday, and @suicidegirl is another one, and has already been doing this for a year and a half.

And I'm just as mad at the Steemit users who choose to upvote this very obviously plagiaristic account, and others like it. You don't have to be a Sherlock to see that this person is a thief. You have made this person thousands of dollars, and got him/her to a reputation 62. Are you fucking idiots? Do you not understand that you allow thieves like this to drain the reward pool and do harm to the reputation of the whole platform? If you want Steemit to succeed in the long run, plagiarism needs to be dealt with, as soon as one sees it.

I'd like to call out @roelandp, our very own Steemfest organiser, and ask why the fuck do you upvote this plagiarist bitch?! You should know better.

This @suicidegirl (who really should commit one) is now flagging my and @rubencress comments because we called him/her out on this shit, once again.

Flag this bitch if you give a shit about copyright law, art, or the future of Steemit!

Well said @eveuncovered! It really is an insult to all the hard working, creative and original people on here, many of whom are struggling to make even $1SBD, makes me so angry.

Why would someone rather upvote stolen content than find a real person who makes something worthy of an upvote, that I can not understand.

Exactly! I know there's cheats and frauds on all kinds of platforms but it's people upvoting them and rewarding them for this behaviour that really gets me - why??? Use your brains people!!!

I guess using ones brain is overrated and a lost talent really...

That's why i always try to up vote those that do use them :)

I ve seen shit like this, a so called steem girl that uploaded bikini pics (not that bad btw, lol) until she(?) had an amount of 1000 followers, suddenly the "interested in travel, love and crypto" announcement on the profile changed for: Submit only x.xx SBD to receive upvote from +1000 bla bla.

How the fuck is this even possible in a world, where there is a possibility to check up content plagiarism online? Aren't there content bots out in the steemworld?

Yeah I'm always the most surprised by how blind people are to plagiarism when it is SO OBVIOUS. I have made mistakes myself too, but if I have doubts about someone, I ask them to verify themselves or do a little digging. It's not that hard.

There is @cheetah (checks mostly text I think) and quite a few witnesses that fight this sort of thing, but like all thing in here, it's a community effort to make sure that accounts like @suicidegirl get flagged to oblivion.

Gimme a lesson pls: If I do flag such a bullshit account, does the flagged one see I flagged him? Didn't flag so far, cuz I m afraid of a shitstorm response, for as my profile is too weak yet, to start wars like these... Isn't it? :)

Yes, you can not do anything in secret in here, everything is recorded into the blockchain. I like using https://steemd.com/@yourusernamehere to keep up on actions coming in and going out of my account.

What comes to both upvotes and flags, your steempower is what determines how much you can give or take, ie, you can't do shit yet 😂

Um, wow, this link is really helpful, thanks. You right, I still don't get how it works in here. But as long as this @memesplease guy keeps earning fuckin money with memes, my will won't allow me to give up on this... I want him to become afraid of my memes (that I consider more funny) :D

I'm happy to help, don't hesitate to ask if you need more guidance.

I hate to break it to you honey but those votes are bought by him, not "earned" by genuine upvotes from people that enjoy memes.

What the fuck? I can’t believe people can be this boldly dumb. A quick and absolute solution has to be striped on this shit else the future of steemit is in trouble, especially when steemit becomes mainstream

I don't know why but I'm still surprised by how stupid people are, every damn day...

Albert Einstein said it - two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity.

That’s why I’m not so surprised

What else can be used to deceive “men” better, if not the sexual energy

The whales, the steemit monsters, whatever they are called should fix this crap asap

At this stage impersonation has started happening on steemit

Sigh

plagiarism is bad enough. But seeing plagiarism with a fucking "art" tag is even worse.

I don't believe you can do anything in this case. As long as he/she posts the source, this is under fair use.

That doesn't even come close to fair use. Some people are under the false impression that if you cite the source, that is considered fair use. That is not what fair use is. What that user is doing is straight copyright infringement for the purpose of profit.

To be considered fair use, there has to be a good reason to use the photos of others. For example, if you wanted to critique them.

How in the world did you get the impression that citing a source was fair use? Misinformation like that is irresponsible to spread.

Hey there. Don't conflate copyright infrigement with plagiarism :)

Only parties allowed for grievance are the girls in the photos and Tumblr.

Don't worry, I'm not conflating the two things. The photos were copied. Only the creator has the right to copy them. The right to copy = copyright.

I do understand what you are saying though. A DMCA would have to come from the copyright holder, no matter how much we complained about it.
(edited)

Yeah and as long as the parties involved don't claim the right, you can't do shit, capiche.

I am not saying I agree with the practice, I am just giving you the facts.

I don't disagree with that, I'm just saying that the copyright holders would have a case to file a DMCA. Citing the source does not protect the offender.

Fuck yeah they could and they should, UNLESS they are aware of it and don't mind the free traffic/exposure/whatever.

I am just saying, unless you are in the picture, Steemit can't do shit. I didn't express myself clearly in my first comment apparently.

I also did not express myself clearly. Apparently we are in agreement.

Using solely someone elses pictures to make money, not even in a part of an article, is definitely not "fair use". And you as a copywriter should know that.

Steemit is very complex in that regard, because you don't actually make "money". You mine blocks. It's not quite clear yet. You have to file a complaint under DMCA, so the only parties allowed for griveance are the people portrayed in the photos. And Tumblr itself.

While the user hasn't done any transformative work or what not, he/she does curate the photos. Which, unless someone files a complaint, he/she is allowed to do that according to Steemit.

(Don't you think I like or agree with that. It is what it is.)

And where would those people file the complaint to when there is no real authority on the platform? They would first have to join, either pay or wait two weeks, and then jump through hoops of getting a sense of the platform and complaining to steemcleaners etc.

Preaching to the choir Eve. It's a fundamental problem of the platform. Decentralized means no legitimate authority and conditions of wild west.https://github.com/steemit/steem/pull/561 Here they talked about coding in a DMCA plug-in, but it creates a disaster with the nodes and what not.

The girls can alwas file a complaint @ steemit support, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yes the wonderful world where everyone has an equal say and we as a community can decide together about every little or big thing. It's such bullshit and majority of the people are dumb fucks and should not be given ANY power what so ever.

Gosh I would love to be a dictator.

Have you Googled "Fair Use" together with "Copyright"? You should try it someday before making a statement like this.

Check out our article that is all about copyright here.

Hey there. Don't conflate copyright infrigement with plagiarism :)

Hey there. Thanks for showing how intelligent you are.

Makes a girl mad doesn't it!? Sucks that pictures like we take, get stolen by little thieves who don't have the capability to create anything by themselves.

Indeed. I tend to think someone who would steal and post like @suicidegirl is a dude because dick picks do not have the same payout potential. 😂

Haha yeah possibly! No one wants to see those 😝 and yes, double standards for sure!

It's best to report such incidents to @steemcleaners through their website http://steemcleaners.com/reports/new and to not upvote plagiarized content in the first place ;)

But the problem is that people are dumb enough to upvote, and if it goes on long enough, they build their profile and steempower so that it's a lot harder to stop them.

...

This is so bad, can't
Believe it. People like this
Bitch shouldn't exist

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

Why did you remove your comment? 😅

Plagiarism is really the curse of this platform. We have the same issue with the #steemstem tag. People are seeing the high payouts and expect some easy money. Our blacklist for these frauds is growing every day.

So much shit to deal with 😫 It would be easier to not give a shit, but whan can you do when you care!

My assumption would be that it is a dude, a chick could always take naked pictures of herself.

Not if she isn't hot.

you might be surprised.
